The goliath clans of the north come down into the fishing villages every spring to trade the pelts of the massive ice wolves for the fine metalwork of the otherwise soft southern folk. That is where Murta's father acquired this fine axe. When he died in a skirmish with a party of Mammothodon raiders, Murta took up the axe in defense of her home and people. Sometimes, as she swings the axe at an enemy's chest, she can hear her father whisper in his gruff voice "Be strong, Murta, and be proud."
