Model Description:
This download contains a highly detailed model of a 1940 model T-34 medium. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness).
Historical Description:
The T-34 was an iconic medium tank used throughout World War 2. The vehicle saw constant upgrades throughout the war, with armaments ranging from the low velocity L-11 cannon on the original 1940 variants, to the much more powerful ordinance used on the T-34-85's towards the end of the war. This model represents the 1941 model of the T-34, featuring a hull design similar to the 1940 model, with early hatch designs. The turret on the 1941 stands out however, with a new roof layout. The most notable change is the upgrade from the 76mm L-11 to the 76mm F-34 cannon, which had a significant performance boost when it came to armor penetration.
The T-34 was the workhorse of the Soviet Armored divisions, with over 80,000 being produced between the variants, 35,000 of those being 76mm equipped vehicles. The vehicle saw production between multiple nations between 1940 and 1958. The 1940 variant was the first to be mass produced and used the less powerful L-11 cannon.
In Armored Advance:
In armored advance the T-34 (1940) is a marginally worse version of the T-34s with the F-34 cannon, sacrificing penetration and some damage for a slightly smaller point investment. The T-34 armor profile is marginally superior to its competition due to the heavy sloping, this is offset by the cannon falling behind on armor penetration capabilities. The T-34 does have a notable edge in mobility over similar units, however.
