Model Description:
This download contains a highly detailed model of a King Tiger (Tiger II) heavy tank. This mounts the turret designed by Krupp, for the Henschel hull design. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness).
Historical Description:
The Panzer VI 'Tiger' was a German heavy tank used in World War 2. The Tiger I was Introduced in 1942 and would later be replaced by the Tiger II in 1944. The Tiger is a well-known tank due to its intimidating profile, powerful 88mm cannon, and thick armor for its time. The Tiger 2's impact is often overstated, as it was quite rare. The vehicle was equipped with the long barreled 88mm KwK43 L/71 anti-tank cannon which could destroy allied armor at long range. In turn the Tiger 2 had up to 185mm of armor on the front, making it a difficult opponent for allied tanks. Unfortunately for the Tiger 2, the allies had air dominance by the time it saw service.
In Armored Advance:
In armored advance the Tiger 2 possesses very strong frontal armor. The vehicle has the ability to angle its armor to be even more effective. Additionally, the 88mm cannon has excellent penetration power that can combat most contemporary vehicles, even at long range. Adding to the cannon's penetration, it also has significant damage output due to its caliber, making 75mm cannons look weak by comparison. The vehicle does however suffer from being quite slow, with a maximum movement of 6" if spending both actions to move, due to the heavy keyword and already low base movement stat.
