Description

A thematic 3d printable miniatures carrying case for your warbands.  This has been designed to be a great way to bring your miniatures to your next game with a striking Radioactive embossed detail.  It has enough space inside to carry around 18 miniatures.

Miniatures with a magnet in the base attach to a self adhesive magnetic sheet that you stick to the removable base plate.

Removing the base plate reveals a small storage area perfect for measurment gauges and cards.

The tail detaches and is another handy storage space for dice and tokens.

The miniatures storage area has a height of 75mm so it is plenty big enough to carry larger miniatures.  The overall Artilley case measures 367mm long x 123mm wide (not including handle) and 110mm deep.

To make the Radioactive Artillery Case you will need:

  • 509g PLA filament
  • A print bed of 256 x 256 x 256mm (this will not print on an A1 mini)
  • 22 magnets (5mm x 5mm Cylinder Shape Neodymium)
  • 1 piece of self adhesive magnetic sheet (25cm x 9cm is enough) Reccomend using Warmag or Similar like Hi-Force® Rubber Steel Sheets High Strength Ferrous Metal Sheet with Self-Adhesive.
  • Superglue
  • Paints as you like.

Included in the files are the STLs and a 3mf file which includes the printing settings including layer pauses to allow you to place some of the magnets in midway through the print, the rest are glued in after printing. Prints on 3 plates in a total of 18hr 28mins. Test printed on Bambu P1P using clean textured build plate with a little bambu liquid glue.

Print Settings:

  • 0.12mm layer height
  • Supports required for some of the parts and this is to the print bed only - 3mf files already have these settings included.
  • 15% infill

Pauses are required at certain points to enable some of the magnets to be inserted into the printing part.  These pauses are programmed in th 3mf files.  Make sure you understand the assembly so that you put magnets in the correct way around.  Assembly file included in the download.  Once the magnet is placed in, drop a little superglue onto the magnet and wipe off any excess, wait for this to dry before continuing the print, this makes sure the magnet doesnt get attracted to the print nozzle.  All printers are different and magnet size tolerances vary, if you have to press the magnets in, make sure you support the underside of your build plate to avoid any bending.
