The Gloster Gladiator represented the final generation of biplane fighters before being made obsolete by the appearance of the Hurricane, Spitfire and Bf 109. In 1937, the Fleet Air Arm decided there was a need for single seat fighters and the Gladiator was chosen to fill the gap. The resulting Sea Gladiator variant was used to protect Scapa Flow, and saw service in the Norwegian campaign, in the defence of Malta, and on carrier operations against Greek forces in the eastern Mediterranean. It was largely phased out by the end of 1940 as it was outclassed in air battles.
This pack contains four aircraft flights.
