Nanban-do was the name given to foreign armor (most often portugese make) that was incorporated into samurai panoply after the introduction of gunpowder weaponry by said same portugese merchants.
Examples of Nanban-do have included both cuirass torso protection and european style helmets incorporated into traditional samurai armor sets.
This miniature set includes samurai clad in such armor, weilding the tanegashima firearms introduced by the portugese.
