They played a crucial role in disrupting Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army operations, particularly in the Mekong Delta, where their expertise in riverine warfare made them a feared force. Often inserted by helicopter, patrol boat, or on foot, SEALs launched surprise attacks on enemy bases, ambushed supply lines, and gathered critical intelligence. Their ability to strike swiftly and vanish into the jungle earned them the nickname "Men with Green Faces" from the Viet Cong due to their camouflage face paint. Despite facing brutal combat conditions, the SEALs' aggressive tactics and adaptability cemented their reputation as elite warriors in modern warfare.
