This release covers the entire Local Force Vietcong component of the succesful Gunslinger SEAL kickstarter campaign of 2025. This release has the reinfoced weapons/inventory to substantially increase durability and tabletop handling.
The Local Force Viet Cong were the backbone of communist resistance in South Vietnam, waging a relentless guerrilla war against American forces and their allies during the Vietnam War. Unlike the Main Force Viet Cong, which operated as more structured military units, the Local Forces were embedded within villages and rural communities, blending seamlessly with the civilian population. They relied on ambush tactics, booby traps, and underground tunnel networks to strike at enemy forces before vanishing into the jungle. Armed with a mix of captured American weapons, Soviet and Chinese-supplied arms, and crude homemade explosives, they endured relentless bombing campaigns and counterinsurgency operations. Despite facing overwhelming firepower, their deep knowledge of the terrain, civilian support, and unwavering determination made them a formidable enemy, playing a crucial role in the eventual communist victory in 1975.
