For the Lost Legion, the need for mass-production to sustain the war effort often clashed with their style of warfare, as they favoured the use of specialised units with very specific gear that was often not needed in such massive quantities. As such, the machine priests assigned to the legion's development soon changed their design philosophy to make versatile weapons that could be used in different ways to fulfil various needs, and none represented that idea better than the Ring-saw Axe, a variant of the more primitive chainaxe. With two grips, bladed edges and its characteristic rotatory ring-saw that could spin in both directions, the Ring-saw Axe was a solid anti-infantry solution while still having enough penetration to deal with armoured threats, and was excellent in both offence and defence when dueling other foes in close combat, soon becoming a staple of many Lost Legion forces.
This kit was designed to be compatible with my Lost Legion range, but should still work well with other similarly-shaped models. It contains:
- 5x Ring-saw Axes held in the right arm.
- 3x Ring-saw Axes held by both arms.
Legionnaires are supposed to be fully ambidextrous so feel free to mirror them for alternate poses, compatibility with other kits or even dual-wielding.
