Mike Biasi

Mike Biasi is a name inextricably linked to the early resin Titans and vehicles for Warhammer 40,000. In the early days of Warhammer 40,000, Games Workshop offered only a handful of vehicles, primarily for the Space Marines. At that time, Mike Biasi created a Titan in Warhammer 40,000 scale, basing his design on Games Workshop's plastic and metal models for Epic and Adeptus Titanicus.
Mike sent his work to Games Workshop, and the company was so impressed that he was granted a license to produce 40,000-scale models based on Epic models. This marked the founding of Mike Biasi Studios.
Mike's models were very well received by players in his California area, and soon after, rules for using them in games were published in Inquisitor (magazine), edited by Tim Dupertuis.
After Mike Biasi's collaboration with Games Workshop ended, John Richardson and some friends from California, in agreement with GW, founded Forgeworld USA to distribute Mike's models in large scale and also to release new models.
Tim Dupertuis received a similar contract from Games Workshop and founded the company Armorcast. Mike later worked for Armorcast, further improving his old models. Armorcast distributed these models until 1999.
In the 2000s, Mike began designing costumes and worked for Disguise Costumes.
Mike died on January 8, 2018.
