The Rat King - Königsratte

A rat infused with a strain of Dragonblight in clandestine experimentation by an unknown party. It was donated to the Crucible, with the organizers unaware of the beast’s true nature, believing themselves to simply have another powerful creature in their midst. It will prove to be much more of a problem than they first thought.

The Konigsratte was a creature donated to the Crucible by an anonymous benefactor. Whilst the Crucible happily took the creature into their pens, they were unaware that it was perhaps the sole creator left on Minera to still harbour the Dragonblight plague. They instead believed it to be a rat or ratfolk that had undergone severe arcane experimentation or biological alterations, something far less dire than the truth. It has not faced any combatants in the arena yet, but should it do, it is likely those it faces will contract the deadly illness thereafter.

There were no cures found for Dragonblight during the time it ravaged Draksborne, save for slaying the perpetrator of the plague, and its sole spreader: Hendrak. When he perished, all those inflicted by Dragonblight perished with him, as the disease was controlled by him as a hivemind. Without a hivemind, any who study this creature will be left wondering what is keeping it alive; whether a new strain now exists without the need of a controller, or another hivemind has appeared in the shadows. Either are bad news.
