A treant captured from Duskweave Isle and brought in stasis to Belfrie by the University of Ardris for study. Several years after its arrival, it suddenly disappeared from the University’s archives, and now resides within the Crucible, kept as a worthy contender for its combatants for its regenerative properties that make it a creature that they can continuously reuse.
A creature older than any kingdom of Men on Minera, Evarak dwelt in the cursed woods of Duskweave since the Age of Creation. Once a guardian of Renmaeth, he was corrupted, like many of his kin on Duskweave, by the fetid influence of Myrothlir, who rotted their once pristine woods. By the time Men first settled on the isle, Evarak was among those who feasted upon them, tearing their expeditions apart until the men drove them back with fire and steel.
When the Lich Kelathar claimed the isle from Baldur, many of the corrupted fey spirits that lives in its fringes and forests pledged loyalty to him, serving him under the promise that no living Men would step foot on their shores again. Evarak in that time brought ends to many who tried; Baldur’s own attempts to reclaim the island, or shipwrecks washed ashore. When the Coalition took the isle, Evarak fought against them, but was ultimately disabled by Belfrian mages, brought in stasis to the University of Ardris for study.
For years Evarak lay there dormant, forgotten in a lost archive until he wasn’t. One fateful night he was lifted away, transported to the beast pens of the Crucible, where he has served as a creature of combat since. Owing to his regenerative properties, Evarak has proven himself a worthwhile illicit purchase by the Crucible, one far outweighing the risk to proclaim it, as the monster can fight almost daily, regardless of how it might have been defeated the day before, regrowing its body in full overnight.
