Description

Mutants of Malghool drags your table into the glowing muck of Malghool, a radioactive swamp where the rain burns with contamination, the water twists flesh, and the locals have learned that survival means adapting to horrors no sane person would approach. Mutants of Malghool is a radioactive swamp supplement filled with mutant beasts, fungal symbiosis, irradiated waters, strange swampfolk traditions, and creatures that have made contamination part of the ecosystem.

In Malghool, radiation is not just a hazard. It is food, faith, medicine, curse, and inheritance. The people who live here do not survive by cleansing the swamp. They survive by learning what should be feared, what can be ridden, what can be eaten, and what should be left very much alone.

Adventure
This supplement brings our latest adventure, Countdown to Doomsday. The characters arrive in the swamp town of Shanmarsh and learn that a terrible creature called a radiagon has died somewhere in the mire and its corpse will erupt in a cataclysmic explosion of radiation and radiant energy, wiping out almost all life in a 100-mile radius. The characters must race through the radioactive swamps of Malghool, fighting against exhaustion, disease, mutation, cultists, predators, and the clock itself as they try to reach the corpse before the radiagon detonates. Destroy it, move it, submerge it, or die trying. Time is not on your side!

Stat Blocks
This supplement includes 5 new statblocks drawn from the irradiated ecosystem of Malghool.

Battle the Malghool Crawler, a massive mutated catfish-like predator that bursts from the radioactive water to swallow anything unlucky enough to get too close. Ride on or run from the Myut Strider, a giant mutated water strider used by Malghool fishermen to carry boats across the surface of the swamp. Face the Polycephalic Beaver, a two-headed mutant that builds dams not from wood, but from corpses. Beware the Polylimbic Frog, a horrifying ambush predator that uses its own tongue to mimic a drowning child and lure victims into mutating water. And pray you never meet a Radiagon too late. These radioactive monsters are dangerous in life, but their corpses may be even worse, detonating after death in a blast powerful enough to doom everything for miles around.

Player Options
We’re also revisiting our original Biosplicer player class with the Field of Unstable Evolution subclass. Unlike more traditional biosplicers who devote themselves to the study of specific creature types, these fringe scientists study instability itself. Irradiated monsters, mutated specimens, unstable grafts, and their own bodies all become tools in the pursuit of forced evolution. Stability is weakness. Mutation is progress!

This supplement also brings a new player racial template: the Mireblight. Inspired by radiation-consuming fungus, the Mireblight is a semi-symbiotic and potentially parasitic fungal infection that allows its host to survive in irradiated environments. Those afflicted can metabolize radiation, endure contaminated food and water, and even connect through a fungal network. But the fungus always wants more, and over time, the line between host and infection becomes harder to find.

And lastly, the Swampfolk Background allows characters to step directly into the culture of Malghool. Whether raised among the stilted homes, mutated fisheries, and black-mold-covered families of the swamp, or shaped by years of surviving its waters, swampfolk know that Malghool is not a dead place. It is alive, hungry, and home.

Items
This supplement also brings you 10 new items designed for surviving, exploring, and exploiting the radioactive swamp. Whether your players need protection from the mire, tools to navigate the dangers of Malghool, or strange equipment shaped by the region’s mutant ecology, these items help bring the setting’s survival horror and swampfolk ingenuity straight to the table.

Warps
This supplement includes 4 new Warps tied to mutation, radiation, biology, and unstable science. These antimagic effects let characters twist the battlefield through contamination and forced adaptation, giving tables more ways to explore the stranger side of Malghool’s radioactive evolution.

Maps
We've also got 10 total battle maps to bring the swamps of Malghool to your table. From the ramshackle docks of Shanmarsh to mutating ponds, irradiated waterways, and the horrific Corpse Dam itself, these maps are ready to drag your players deep into the muck.

Tokens
And lastly, this supplement comes with 11 VTT-ready tokens for all of your online needs!
