Is-3 - Soviet Heavy Tank - 1/72 Scale

Model Description:
This download contains a highly detailed model of the IS-3 Heavy tank with the 122mm D-25T cannon. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness).

Historical Description:
The IS-3 was a heavy tank developed by the Soviet Union during the closing years of World War 2 as a more armored successor to the IS-2 heavy tank. The vehicle was designed as a breakthrough vehicle and featured a powerful 122mm D-25T cannon, able to fire potent high-explosive rounds as well as deal with heavy German armor. Despite the armor being much more effective than that of its predecessors, due to the pike nose and thick cast turret, the vehicle had nearly the same weight at 46 tons.
