French Garde Mobile 1870

initially envisioned as a reserve force of all able men not previously drafted, and to train during a set period of consecutive days per year, the Garde Mobile was a separate force to the Garde Nationale.

Although the law to create the Garde Mobile passed in January of 1868, it did so in a reduced form, and the garde was to train for 14 days, non consecutively, throughout the year. Consequently, discipline and equipment in the Garde was quite poor. 

This set of files allows you to create a unit of Garde mobile in a multitude of skirmishing poses complete with drummer and officer. We have also included a sitting figure for diorama purposes.
