Yoke of Oxen – Power and Endurance on the Frontier

Model: 35054

Scale: 1/30

Finish: Matte

Set Includes: Two-piece diorama accessory

This 1/30 scale diorama accessory depicts a traditional yoke of oxen—two powerful draft animals harnessed together for heavy transport. Oxen were the backbone of early military and civilian logistics, known for their endurance and ability to pull greater loads than horses over long distances, albeit at a slower pace.

Their steady and dependable nature made them indispensable during the American Revolution. One of the most remarkable examples of their service was in the “Noble Train of Artillery” (winter 1775–76), when Colonel Henry Knox led teams of oxen to haul captured cannons from Fort Ticonderoga through the snowbound wilderness to Boston—a feat of endurance that proved vital to the Continental Army’s success.

W. Britain’s meticulously sculpted and hand-painted figures capture both the strength and realism of these animals, complete with yoke harness detail and naturalistic bases. Ideal for complementing Revolutionary War, frontier, or supply-line dioramas, this set adds authenticity and depth to any historical display.
