Roman Villa

In a villa of the Late Roman Empire, life unfolds between the toil of the fields and a fading, quiet elegance inside the main house. Slaves and tenant farmers labour in vineyards, olive groves and granaries, while the owner checks his accounts in a room whose mosaics are already worn at the edges. The private baths still function, though water no longer arrives as reliably as it once did and the hypocaust groans like an old bone.

In the gardens, busts and statues look on in silence as news of raids and wars creeps closer with each passing year. The villa endures, a tiny Rome in miniature—but everyone senses that the world which made it possible is crumbling beyond its walls.

Roman Villa is a 30mm scale model, sculpted on 3D. This models is composed of three different buildings.
