Model of a medieval cannon designed to be used with a  cardesque charge, which would be a lot of either iron ball/projectiles or any other metal schappel which would be fired at enemy infantry/cavalry at close range to send out a cloud of iron... This is why the barrel is designed to sprea sideways.
