Why did you choose this Kill Team?

I was inspired to build this Kill Team by a segment in Codex: Orks which describes the legendary warboss “Arch-Arsonist Snagrod” of the Bad Moon clan. I pictured a warband of Burna-Boyz riding around in flame-yellow Trukks, looting and setting fire to everything in sight.

What rules options did you use?

The Kill Team’s leader, Mekboy Skraplug, is respected among this small warband for his uncanny ability to survive wielding his own experimental weapons for more than ten minutes.

As a result, he’s a weapons specialist with the Master Craftsman special rule. Whenever his unstable scratch-built Kustom Mega Blasta threatens to go critical, he bashes its fusion reactor with a spanner and unleashes another volley of… some kind of searingly bright burny stuff it’s best not to look directly at.

How do you plan on using it on the tabletop?

Burna Boyz fight best at very short range, so I’ll be looking to use their Trukk to get them across the board as fast as possible. Skraplug the Mekboy leader brings fierce firepower with his Kustom Mega-blasta (provided it doesn’t explode) and if he has time, might help repair the Trukks keeping the Kill Team mobile. I also expect the Trukks will help to protect against shooting attacks while they close in on the enemy.

To help keep the Burna-Boyz focussed on the important work of setting fire to absolutely everything in sight, I’ve included a small band of Ork Nobz to accompany them. They also have their own Trukk, and I’ll be using them to draw fire away from the Burnas and get stuck into combat. The other great thing about Trukks is that they also come with a Big Shoota each, providing valuable long range dakka.

What models did you use?

I’ve used two Ork Trukks, one box of Ork Burna-Boyz which includes a Mekboy with Kustom Mega Blaster, and a box of Ork Nobz.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about your Kill Team?

I’ve only used three Ork Nobz in my Kill Team, but the kit actually comes with five. Plus, the Ork Nobz kit is packed with deadly possibilities like Combi-weapons, Big Choppas and Power Klaws. As well as a really fun choice for games of Kill Team, Snagrod’s Burna Boyz are a great starting collection for any Ork fans. Adding some mobs of Ork Boyz and a Big Mek would make a fearsome Warhammer 40,000 army.
