This kit contains 1 Anglo-Saxon style Cruck Frame House
These buildings are based on the Cruck frames commonly found in Anglo-Saxon houses.
They could be found all throughout the period of the Norman Conquest and the Barons’ War,
all the way up through the English Civil War and the Monmouth Rebellion.
Crucks are formed using two curved timbers, often halved, to form a stable frame,
upon which further construction could continue.
‘Ethel lives on the demesne farm of the lord, as a poultry-woman. Her daughters collect milk
from the cows and sheep. Her house has a small extension, which was built long before she moved in.’
