The Blade of Set
The battle against their nemesis had proven more dire that expected. The warrior felt his blood run cold as he began to fade from Edyn... However, this was not his end.
He awoke in a puddle of his own blood, in a white foggy expanse without end. It took a few moments to realize the towering figure that was kneeling in the distance.
A strange eldritch entity with a tentacles draped over its form was kneeling with a colossal blade through its body. The warrior felt so small in its presence, as if the blade reached for the heavens. It felt so strange that it took him this long to realize the blade through the entity was in fact the stone blade he found in the desert.
Was this the entity that lead him to it? Was his will no longer his own? Why was it impaled by the eldritch blade? So many questions passed through his mind, but all he could do was look down to see he was moments away from bleeding out completely.
His voice called out to the figure "What do you want? Why have you brought me here? Now of all times?"
A deep voice reverberated through his being slowly saying "A pact."
The warrior yelled back "I already wield the blade that runs through your body. What else can you offer?"
The deep voice responds
"You are mistaken - I am the blade, warrior. You have failed to wield me and thus have fallen in battle.
I offer you my true power - the power to bring ruin to all that lay before you."
"What would this power cost me? There is always a catch." the warrior responds.
"It will cost you everything. I dream of a cleansing wave to wipe the slate clean for my master. So Edyn can be reborn anew. Don't reach for me if you believe your tenets can still hold you up. For my path is one of ruin."
"Well... you're timing could be a bit better. I doubt I'm much use in this state" - as the warrior gestures towards the puddle of blood.
"This will not stop us. Nothing will."
"Very well. I accept."
"Then we have an accord. Set me free."
