When the rupture struck Delvdor, many of its surrounding mines were destroyed or cut off. Kazadran was one of these, but was the first mine where the Dwarves dug in to conduct a concentrated rescue effort of the miners. Though when they broke through the rubble and cave ins, horror greeted them. Their kin had all perished, not from hunger, thirst or suffocation, but from the foul creatures of the abyss that had clawed their way out of the chasm left by the Rupture. The troggs had burrowed into the mine, and gluttonously consumed every last miner, bones and all. All that was left of them was blood stains, scraps of clothing and clumps of hair.
Disgusted and terrified, the rescuers quickly resealed the mine, refusing to venture forth. Though concern quickly rose that the Troggs within would burrow out, and begin attacking other nearby mines and rescue teams, or worse yet, burrow into the city of Delvdor itself. With little other choice, the Dwarves have assembled an extermination squad to rid the monsters from the mines, though with the many cave-ins and damaged structures it may prove to be a difficult task, not to mention the labyrinthine design of the mine as well, that seems to change each time one turns a corner.
