An infiltrator from the Sixth Reverie of the Abyss. Deceit is her weapon, and she will use it to sow discord into the ranks of the righteous. Oaths and vows be damned in the path of Fortuna, for whatever target she chooses, she takes the form which they would find more desirable than anything in the world. The rest is left up to them. This treachery has led her to earn the moniker “Oathsbane” in the Sixth Reverie. Many paladins have given up their powers for her, only to have their souls devoured moments later.
A succubus who once served under Kavaramon, being rather infatuated with the Archdevil of her Reverie. When he was slain during the invasion of Velandria, Fortuna was beside herself, vowing vengeance against the mortals who parted her lover from her. For a year she spent roaming the mortal realm, across the plains of Tharador, she found no such fortune. Though she seduced and slaughtered dozens of paladins, breaking their oaths before killing their powerless forms, she was unable to find those who slew Kavaramon.
Her only hope now is to lead astray the Church of the Tharameni in its final desperate stand to repair the destroyed Chalice of Namneri. For this she travelled to the ruins of Sundestra, taking the guise of a widowed woman, and slowly began encroaching herself into the affairs of the Church. Now she is aware of one of where the shards are stored, and aims to cast it into the a hellgate when first they open upon her signal, having earned the attention of Nosmarka herself for her efforts.
Still, Fortuna weaves her way through the ranks, slowly but surely leaving disgraced and disavowed priests, clerics and paladins, breaking the sanctity of their vows and oaths to lay with her. Though here she has spared their lives, and instead let them dwell in hidden shame that their oaths have been broken, a fact that won’t become apparent until the time is needed for them to fight. Until then, each is unaware that they had been coaxed by the succubus, and instead think themselves having fallen smitten with a fair widowed woman. Ultimately, it will cost them their lives when Nosmeni swarm the city, and the Divine do not answer their prayers.
