A honeycomb network of storm drains and sewer tunnels that runs beneath the streets of Tharador’s largest city, spilling all its contents either into the swamps a few miles from the city, or into the ocean. They are seldom trekked by urban explorers or thieves in the modern age, for the chemicals and pollutants dumped into the drains by industrialists and workshops.
Beneath the feet of the citizens of Grimgate lies the fetid tunnels of the city’s sewers. The smell would curdle the stomach of the most grizzled war veteran, though worse still it would poison their lungs and blight their skin should they step down the wrong corridor or crawl through the wrong tunnel. As such the sewers are seldom ventured in the modern age, though decades before they were often used as hideouts for petty gangs and any who wished to operate outside the eyes of the law.
Thus Tomas Lumens has used the sewers as his own base of operations for what’s to come next, having meticulously mapped out a small, hard to reach atrium using his simulacrums before entering. With a swathe of deadly traps and the natural barriers left by the sewers, their hideout is a defensible bastion within the sewers, with air filtrates keeping their atrium in a breathable condition, and allowing his crew to enter and exit the sewers without health risk.
