Tharanais has been the centre of Aria’s life for as long as she could remember. Whilst most children yawned and longed to leave the temple sermons they were dragged to by their parents, Aria attentively listened. It was natural that when she awoke to her arcane abilities, she would thank Tharanais for such a gift, and pledge her service to him evermore. Now in death, her service continues, fighting back the forces of Mindoriel’s Spawn.

Aria’s tale is a far cry from those of most Nosmeni born into Tharador. While most were raised in confines of orphanages, usually given up by their non-Nosmeni parent, Aria was raised in a traditional familial household, the eldest of three. Her mother, a Nosmeni scholar and advisor within the Crown’s Library of Jochenia, and her father a candlemaker. Their daily temple visits often won the awe of the young Aria, who above all days to visit, loved the day of Tharren, Monday: the day of Tharanais. It was the sermons in that temple, which often her mother read through as a guest, that most enthralled Aria. Whilst her siblings and the other children gathered in the pews longed to be free from their daily sermon, Aria listened with wide eyes. It came naturally then that she would later awaken to her arcane nature, thanking Tharanais for such a gift.

It was mostly Aria’s love of her mother that drove her connection to Tharanais, however. When her mother passed to illness, Aria took up the cloth and joined the Church as a means to be closer to her. Yet it was at such a time that the Church needed warriors, more than it needed scholars. The evil of Quorenderi was beginning to seep through the cracks of Tharador, and Aria was among the thousands that perished beneath the walls of Elen Estel the day that it fell. She died valiantly, defending the realm from evil, and finally was reunited with her mother in the Halls of Syelden, where they hence shared a dream forevermore.

For sixty years in the ages of the living, they enjoyed peace together in Syelden, eventually reuniting with Aria’s father, and one of her in the Dark Spawn’s assault on Syelden, this peace came to an abrupt end. The Travelling Jack invaded the plane that their family had called home, ensnaring the minds of her family. Aria was able to drive him off, but in tow the devil took their mother. Now she hunts him across the planes of Syelden, desperate to save her mother from his evils.
