Hailing from Greypeak, Lune de la Rue sees her magical inclination as a form of artwork and expression, rather than a power to be used to embolden lords or pilfer gold from the needy. Whilst magic is frowned upon in her homeland, with the single college having very strict entries, she is free to explore her desire for magical expression and artwork in the University of Canos. Though even here, her professors find her work strange, yet intriguing.

Lune grew up in the pristine lakeside city of Vanlund, Greypeak’s capital. Her home was one where art was revered, more than magic, and in her earliest years Lune yearned to become a great artist like those whose names were borne on streets and statues across the city. A painter, a sculptor, sketcher, poet, writer, musician, composer: it didn’t matter. She wanted to make art. Art that touched the soul. When she first became aware of her arcane inclinations, Lune was distraught. Magic was seen as taboo in Greypeak, and while not outright outlawed like in some lands, its wielders were seen as dangerous, deadly and often coveted by powerful nobles to sit in their courts and make their wills and whims come to fruition.

Lune did not wish for such a life. It was by good fortune that one of her mentors, in truth, also held such powers, and had often used them to enhance their works in secret. This mentor told Lune of a place where she too could learn to use magics to see a side of the human soul that even art could not touch. They wrote her a letter of recommendation to the University of Canos, specifically to House Solenne where they had been placed, and where they knew Lune would thrive.

That was over a year ago, and now as she enters her Second Year, Lune has found a sense of belonging in the halls of House Solenne, finding ways that her brush may be wielded with arcane means. Paintings and sculptures come to life. Artworks are now more than canvas and paint, but deeper interactive expressions of her own soul and the resilience she has seen in the rebuilding city of Canos. Her hope by the end of the year is to create her own Painted World, a very difficult and intimate task that takes even experienced arcane creationists years to achieve.
