Mayor Reginald Craven started his career as a lowly clerk in Pitchborough's Municipal Office. Born into a family of influential bureaucrats, and known for his charismatic speeches and promises of reform, he quickly demonstrated a knack for political maneuvering and an unquenchable ambition, swiftly climbing the political ladder until eventually becoming the head of the city council in Pitchborough. Initially, he supported Balthazar Morris and his technological advancements, seeing them as the key to Pitchborough's future. However, as Morris Inc.'s influence grew, Craven's calculated rise to power and increasing wealth slowly corrupted him. He began to form alliances with other high lords and industry barons who shared his desire for even greater control and profit.
Together, they established a criminal syndicate, specializing in drug trafficking and smuggling operations of stolen Morris Inc. creations. Under his leadership, this covert syndicate masked their illegal activities behind their public personas. Yet, despite their cooperation, the barons have been constantly at odds, each vying for greater control and a larger share of the profits.
Craven's ultimate goal has been for a long time the downfall of the Morris family, whom he sees as the last obstacle to his absolute dominion over the city. And so, when the opportunity arose to exploit the retiring undead laborers from Morris Inc., Craven eagerly re-purposed these decaying workers for his operations, unknowingly spreading the leechpox infection just as Balthazar predicted. Now, as the pox turns his minions into monstrous abominations under Balthazar’s command, Craven's plot to destroy the Morris family legacy is threatened by the realization that his own downfall is imminent.
