A Theatre of Equal Struggle
The Pronglands, an unforgiving expanse of sweltering jungle and treacherous terrain has become an unlikely equalizing battleground in the ongoing war between the opposing forces in Northern Destron.
Choked with exotic flora and teeming with aggressive, highly dangerous fauna, the jungle resists both sides with indifference. For the Clankers, whose heavy reliance on advanced machinery and battlefield automation usually grants them overwhelming superiority, the jungle is a hostile environment where their technology falters. Swampy terrain gums up servos, thick undergrowth renders sensors unreliable, and power systems overheat in the relentless humidity. Their machines, built for open-field dominance, become sluggish and vulnerable in the green hell of the Pronglands.
The Riggers, by contrast, have long been considered obsolete. Undersupplied, outclassed, and dismissed as a relic of a bygone era, they have found in the Pronglands a strange advantage. Their rugged, low-tech equipment is more adaptable to the harsh terrain. The troops, hardened by years of scavenging and survival, have learned to move with the jungle rather than against it.
Rigger Comdits, small, semi-autonomous strike teams, patrol deep into the jungle interior, utilising the unique environment and striking swiftly at isolated Clanker strongholds. Their goal is not just disruption but eradication: to destroy staging areas before the Clankers can reinforce them and expand their iron menace into the uncharted heartlands of Destrons remaining wild spaces.
This guerrilla war is fought in silence and shadow, broken only by the occasional roar of something ancient in the trees, or the sudden scream of metal under ambush. The Pronglands, for all their peril, offer the Riggers something they’ve not had in decades: a fighting chance.
