A temple of knights and monks raided by looters and burned to the ground. A village cursed for centuries. A hunter of the undead looking for answers about her past and an ancient creature willing to do whatever it takes to avoid the grasp of death. What is the evil purpose of the creatures that creep out of the fog? Will the dragon Kragdul fulfill his plan and enslave the villagers of Prasov? It’s time for you to decide. Will you aid the people of the plains to get rid of their curse? Or will you find your end in the Chapel of Ghouls?
This is a dark-fantasy and horror 5e module set in the world of Izral and designed to be played by four to five characters of level 4. It serves as an interlude between other adventures and can easily be inserted into a bigger campaign. With small tweaks, it can also be adapted to a lower or higher group level (for example, the players, instead of being assisted by Ada Van Heidegger and the villagers, could be doing all the heavy lifting and battling the dragon on their own).
Adventures in the world of Izral are all fully compatible with the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons. A pdf document, maps and stat blocks are included for you and your friends to bring all the grimness and epic of Izral to the party.
Overview of the adventure:
Part I: The Corpse Thieves
Where the party arrives at Prasov and witnesses an attack by a repugnance accompanied by nauseas.
Part II: The Carrion Temple
Where the party first travels to the chapel, finds Ada and barely escapes from Kragdul.
Part III: The Lord of Pestilence
Where they confront Kragdul in a coordinated attack with Ada and learn the secrets of the chapel.
