Not all worlds and realms trust or can afford mechs and other titanic walkers, relying instead on thick armor and a low profile to deliver death to the enemy.
The High Thirdgate Folk, or Insos, as they call themselves, especially those from mining worlds like Bertini, Lyre, and StartDiggin, have shunned titans and mecha in favor of solidly-built tanks, and offer a base variant of the Renegar that is widely used throughout the Worldgate networks. When they can fit through the portals, of course.
The 4th Proud and Strong, The Red 9th Of The Long Dirge, and The Grandhammer Legions of the Insos are especially fond of these massive vehicles that can bowl over titans and keep going.
The Renegar Superheavy Tank, named for an intrepid inter-realm explorer and pioneer from the Insos homeworlds, is a stalwart, dependable machine, simple in construction, and horrific in its damage-dealing potential.
As a means of generating revenue, the Insos have produced or licensed the Renegar design for sentients and sapients of multiple species, adapting the voluminous crew compartments to a variety of physiologies.
Whether an armor (or armour) commander chooses the 250mm main gun, dual rotary gatling cannons, or a short-ranged but lethal particle beamer, the Renegar can deliver the victory.
There are multiple tread and grav options for this hull. 8-tread units. 4-tread widebody units. Triple-node grav generators reverse-engineered from captured Consortium units. Anything to take the fight to the enemy, regardless of terrain.
Like the Dannemiller Superheavy Grav Tank, the hull of the Renegar is split into four parts that align together with the help of an alignment key, or "dogbone."
Tracks or grav motive units align with dimpled recesses under the edge of the main hull.
Large, hollow parts have drain holes incorporated to minimize stress on your printer, and to allow excess resin to return to your vat. We tried to make these in spots that won't show, but also include a set of 3mm to 5mm Drain Hole Covers that you can print and glue to cover those holes.
Magnetization is possible with 8mm x 3mm neodymium magnets found at your local hardware store or online. Use steel 8mm or 3/8 washers under cupola and auxiliary weapons, or glue them in place, skipping the magnets.
Only advanced modelers with large printers should attempt this build.
A unibody hull is made for folks with FDM printers to make custom slices and plates, and is 275mm/11 inches in length. Pack a lunch.
For those of you who want to make 1/100th scale (15mm Tabletop) versions, you can use the exact same files provided, and shrink them in your slicer program to 56% of their original size. The larger-format resin supports should print without a hitch. That's how I made my test models.
NOTE: This is the base model of the Renegar Superheavy Tank. Other models are shown for size reference, and sold separately. I also have a series of anti-kaiju turrets as upgrades, as well as other upgrades planned.
If you want all the goodies, you can purchase "The Full Superheavy," which will feature all Renegar, Dannemiller, and other compatible hulls, turrets, and upgrades, for now and in the future (hint: Momma Snake inbound).
