Ketimnon of Nemis is the eldest living son of Solon the Wise and the Dictator of the Eastern Army of Eros—a title that grants him near-autonomous command over all military affairs east of the capital. A stoic and disciplined commander, Ketimnon has little interest in politics or the scheming of his many brothers. He believes in order, legacy, and the silent weight of duty. While his father’s voice shaped the peace that ended the Nemisian Civil War, Ketimnon’s hand now holds that peace in place—by force, if necessary. In the year 218, he is deep in the northern reaches of Myrakleia, where the Acenii barbarians have risen against the power of Nemis.
Ketimnon carries a blade called "Dorymenos"—a curved iron longsword of ancient Nemisian make, with inscriptions that tell of the city’s founding beneath the stars of the Sea of Nera. He is rarely seen without it, and those who serve under him speak of the blade as if it had a will of its own—calm in its stillness, but merciless in motion.
