Odrik Bearwarden & Mishka

Odrik Bearwarden was born from a request made by one of our followers, who wanted to see a priest for the Tzarev Empire faction.

But he didn’t want just the typical “fantasy Orthodox priest”, and we found that idea especially interesting.

Although the Tzarev Empire is inspired by Eastern European cultures such as Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, this time we wanted to look a little further back in history and explore something closer to the ancient Slavic faiths. That’s how Odrik came to be, with a slightly more ancestral and shamanic feel.

And while we were working on the character, another idea came up: why not give him a little bear as a companion?

And that’s how Mishka was born.

We wanted her to feel like a true companion to Odrik, rather than simply an animal placed beside him, so we added a small blanket and a pendant to give her a little more personality.

Those small details took us a few extra hours of work, but we think they were worth it.

In the end, it’s hard to imagine Odrik without Mishka by his side.
