Designed to be mixed with the Sectarian Armour but also fully compatible with other similarly proportioned models by any brand, the Unsanctioned Upgrade Pack has enough options for several full squads.
This kit includes all the files necessary to print the following bits:
- 5x Empty arm poses, both left and right, which have been specifically designed to combine well with the wrist-mounted weapons below.
- Wrist-mounted Auto SMG. Available with and without the pan magazine for reloading poses.
- 5x reloading servo-arm poses for Auto SMG dual-wielders.
- Backpack with slots for the reloading servo-arms.
- Jump-pack with slots for the reloading servo-arms, designed to fit with the wings from the Bladecrow Jump Packs kit.
- Wrist-mounted Laser SMG.
- Wrist-mounted shotgun. Two sizes are included because after test-printing I considered the original looked too small, so I added a larger version as well.
- 4x Heavy stubber poses with arms attached.
- 7x Side belts with ammunition for the different weapons.
While it might seem a bit more complex at first, the huge advantage of keeping the wrist-mounted guns separate from the arms is that they are compatible with every other arm in the entire Lost Legion range, and will be with any I make for the foreseeable future. This way they work very well with melee weapons, including double-handed ones, and allow for some fun loadouts that wouldn't otherwise be possible. Additionally the amount of work needed to attach them to other marks of armour provided by other brands should truly be quite minimal.
Lore titbit:
With their home-planet of Messis turned into an industrial world fully dedicated to supporting the war effort, the Lost Legion enjoyed a level of closeness with the technocracy of Mars few other armies could boast of. With many of their techno-priests moving their base of operations to Messis, the radical style of warfare of the Lost Legion demanded a level of adaptation that could almost be seen as technological advancement, a concept that was considered extremely worrisome by more conservative human factions.
Despite such accusations, the Lost Legion was forced to completely eschew standard-issue enhanced human bolt weaponry during the Xenocide Wars, the explosive ammunition it used being too expensive in both time and resources to be mass-produced at the rate such gruesome conflict demanded. As an alternative, they were given weapons usually carried by regular human auxiliaries, but with an adapted design that aimed to fully exploit the legionaries enhanced physiology. High cadence submachine-guns that could be dual wielded, wrist-mounted assault shotguns for shock troops and heavy stubbers that no normal human would be able to carry by themselves, these new weapons not only saved up on resources by using easier to produce ammo, but actually ended up being more effective than the older bolt weapons thanks to the much higher rate of fire.
