Description
Tethyshadros insularis is an extinct hadrosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70-68 million years ago.
It is a unique and fascinating species due to its discovery on the island of southern Italy, suggesting a possible isolation on a landmass known as the Apulia Platform.
Tethyshadros was a medium-sized herbivore, estimated to be around 20-23 feet long. It had a long and slender body, with a duck-billed snout and a battery of teeth suited for chewing plants.
This dinosaur's presence on an isolated island provides valuable insights into dinosaur distribution, migration, and adaptation to different environments.
