Description
Ceratosaurus nasicornis, a theropod dinosaur from the Late Jurassic period, roamed the Earth approximately 150 million years ago.
Its name, meaning "horned lizard," derives from the prominent horn-like structure on its snout. With a length of around 20 feet, it possessed a robust build and walked on two powerful hind limbs.
Its jaws were lined with sharp, serrated teeth, indicating a carnivorous diet. Ceratosaurus likely preyed upon smaller dinosaurs and reptiles of its time.
Fossil evidence suggests it inhabited floodplain environments in present-day North America and Africa.
