Description

Lokiceratops rangiformis was a large ceratopsian dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of North America, discovered in Montana.

Named in 2024, its name references the Norse god Loki due to its elaborate, asymmetrical horns.

A member of the Centrosaurinae family, Lokiceratops featured a distinctive frill adorned with long, curved horns, making it one of the most ornate ceratopsians known.

It measured around 6 meters (20 feet) in length and weighed over a ton. Lokiceratops lived in lush floodplains, coexisting with other dinosaurs like hadrosaurs and tyrannosaurs, using its horns for display and possibly defense against predators.
