Photek Revenants

Hidden from the dying light of ancient stars,
below the ravaged lands of untold dead civilizations, ancient minds begin to stir.

The Nerubic. The remnants of a fading empire, who now emerge from their vast underground
complexes, are immortal Revenants - an undying echo of their ambition.

In ancient times, they were made of flesh, bone, and carapace: a proud species that built their
domain deep within the mantle of their homeworld, a hollow planet they knew as Nyx.

Any tale of a surface far above, and the endless Void beyond, was nothing but myth.
But when myths of half-remembered songs morphed into reality, the Nerubicon were faced with a
choice: to become myth themselves… or adapt.

The Photek Revenants were a necessity. That was the truth accepted by the Calamity’s survivors.
Although their unnatural size and design struck fear at first sight, their purpose was noble.

The Augmentica Mortalic’s first experimental surface explorers took a familiar shape:that of the
arachnoid creatures found within the hollow shell of their homeworld, Nyx.

For art imitates life, while life mocks it in return.
The first “Photek Revenants”, these engines were named—an ode to the Photek musicians, who led
their once-young empire into the exploration of the Nyxian caverns using song, rhythm, and the
reverberating echoes of dark caverns to map their geometry.

Now, the Photek engines set forth to explore and document the uncanny surface of the planet for
the first time.

They are an amalgam of the Nerubicon bipedal form and the arachnoid anatomy of native species:
piloted through a conglomeration of consciousnesses working together in complete synchronicity,
known as the Harmonic Triad.

“One of a Scientist who may study,
One of a Warrior who may protect,
and One of an Artist who may inspire.”

These were to be the vanguard of Nerubic efforts to claim their place beneath the endless sky.

 The "Photek Revenants" kit marks the first time collaboration between myself and the incredible @Rob_Concepts (on instagram), who I commissioned and collaborated with for the Concept Art stage of this project.

 He did such a fantastic job exploring ideas and illustrating them fantastically for me as a 3D artist to work from.
