Rodela Halftrack Variants

Description

Several variants of the Rodela halftrack have been produced, attempting to put the sturdy chassis to use in a variety of roles.

The first major variant to be produced was a fully-enclosed hardtop transport. Sacrificing easy access to external and pintle weaponry, the TA/H-3(B) is often used for armored reconnaissance troops or in an ambulance role. The roomy interior and high ceiling make it useful for holding extra equipment.

Quickly following on after the gun carrier entered service, the TA/H-3(C) sacrifices transport room for a full turret. This version is often used by cavalry troops or when more heavily-armed reconnaissance is called for. Several sub-variants of this type exist, most notably the AL/H-3, which sacrifices troop capacity for fuel tanks and a heavy flamethrower in the main turret.

The Rodela has also been converted to weapon carrier roles by cutting down the troop area and replacing it with a flatbed and lightweight weapon mount. The most common versions of this use a multiple-rail rocket launcher or a single long-barreled autocannon in a protected turret enclosure.

Update 23 January 2026: Armored Cab had fit issues. Drain holes were too visible after model assembly. Both issues have been corrected.

This kit includes the parts needed to build two additional variants of the Rodela halftrack. The original kit is not required to build these versions.

The kit contains two hull variants and a variety of modular and optional weapon upgrades. It can be built as an enclosed transport, a turreted assault vehicle, or as a light artillery carrier.

Finally, pintle weapons, disposable missile launchers and stowage are included. A side-mounted heavy rocket launcher is included in the kit, and is compatible with most versions of the Rodela.

This kit is presupported, but also includes unsupported STLs for those who want to print in FDM or would prefer to handle their own supports.

Approximate model dimensions: 160mm long, 60mm wide, and 55mm tall.
