The Hellspire yawned open beneath the undercity, luring in victims with the promise of treasure and technology, and then damning them to a shadowy grave. Few dare descend without guidance now, leading to a new industry - the Umbral Navigators. Clad in pressurised suits, these guides are elite pathfinders, trained to chart the collapsing veins of the dead city below. They map routes, mark hazards, and guide clients through hostile depths filled with sump tides, mutated creatures, and relics best left untouched. The only way to learn this knowledge is through experience, and only the hardiest Navigators return to the surface.

Nera Drove is Lead Pathfinder for the guild. Where most divers obsess over safety, Nera chases something deeper - the thrill of treading where no one else has. Born in the dark, she grew up crawling through unstable vent systems and bypassing collapsed corridors in the lower levels of the underhive. With an unquenchable thirst for exploration, Nera cares little about the loot, and instead seeks firsts: first to see, first to map, and first to survive what kills a lesser explorer!

As a dwarf, Farbek is much more comfortable underground than the others, and is able to handle anything the Hellspire Pits can throw at him!
