Covenanter - British Cruiser Tank - 1/72 Scale

Model Description:
This download contains a highly detailed model of a A13 Mk. III "Covenanter" Cruiser tank. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness).

Historical Description:
The A13 series of vehicles were cruiser tanks developed by the British during and interwar and early World War 2 period. All the A13 variants (Mk. 1-3) were equipped with the 40mm QF 2-pdr cannon. The first two in the series looked quite similar with the principal difference being the Mk. 2 having around twice the armor protection of the Mk I. The Mk III once again sought to improve protection of the platform, this time by angling the armor in addition to making some areas thicker. The A13 Mk III was given the name of "Covenanter", whereas the previous vehicles did not receive specific names. The Covenanter ended up being ordered into production prior to the first test vehicles being built, with 1700 ultimately being manufactured. Despite this high count, the vehicle saw almost no deployment outside of Britain and is believed to have never seen combat. The Covenanter was replaced by the Crusader series of vehicles before too long. Ultimately the Covenanter represents an intermediate cruiser design and as a precursor to the more well-known Crusader and Cromwell vehicles.
 

In Armored Advance:
In armored advance the Covenanter is a relatively mobile vehicle with some scouting abilities. The vehicle does not possess much armor however, and the 2-pdr is not a particularly effective cannon. Nevertheless, the vehicle can see success combating other smaller scout vehicles, particularly autocannon equipped vehicles, which it is largely immune to frontally.
