The Triremes of the 5th and 4th centuries BC were the weapon of mass destruction of the time. Their hulls and crew designed, selected and trained to develop speeds of over 10 knots at which they would ram the enemy ships to produce enough damage to cripple them and render them useless in the middle of the sea, to later claim their prize in bronze ( the heavy and precious ram ), wood and timber. Triremes were precious items indeed that cost a fortune to build and a fortune to run, so rarely they would end up in the bottom. of the sea. In a game of Thalassa: Naval Battles on the Ancient seas, we have looked into these peculiar aspects of naval warfare for a different approach in a different type of skirmis experience.
