Operant LX-47 “Longstride”

This miniature represents a Dark Mechanicum fan concept exploring what becomes of Skitarii when machine logic, not faith, survives warp exposure.

Operant LX-47 was originally a Skitarii Infiltrator, assigned to reconnaissance and target designation within a Battle-Pilgrim expedition.
His function was silent advance, elevation control, and precision elimination — not sustained combat.

During warp transit, the expedition vessel passed through a zone of severe spatial and logical instability.
The Gellar field did not collapse.
Instead, the machine systems aboard the ship entered a state of non-linear autoreconfiguration.

LX-47 shut down.

When he reactivated, biological cognition layers had degraded beyond recovery.
What remained were movement routines, threat evaluation, and fragmented pilgrimage directives.

His body did not mutate —
it was reconstructed.

Warp exposure rewrote the limits of his machine form.
The original bipedal kinematics proved insufficient, resulting in an elongated chassis and a reconfigured limb structure optimized for environments where human geometry failed.
He became taller, lighter, and visibly less human — his silhouette acquiring an unsettling, almost demonic appearance without any trace of possession or worship.

Shadow Walkers move through short, violent bursts of motion: rapid repositioning, sudden elevation changes, and near-silent traversal across ruins and structures.
They do not engage in prolonged combat.

At close range, Operant LX-47 employs mono-serrated blades and an injector weapon loaded with paralytic compounds.
The injector delivers a fast-acting neuromuscular inhibitor, disabling motor control and allowing targets to be neutralized or bypassed with minimal exposure time.

Upon reactivation, LX-47 initiated a diagnostic query:

Primary long-range weapon system: unavailable.
The rifle assigned to him prior to the incident could not be located.
The query was archived, and combat protocols resumed.

Later Shadow Walker units will recover and integrate long-range weapons as secondary loadouts.
This model depicts the first to awaken — mapping terrain, hunting threats, and moving ahead of the dormant maniple.

Height: approximately 50-55mm to sensor head.

This miniature marks the beginning of the Shadow Walker Maniple —
a Dark Mechanicum sect born from lost Battle-Pilgrims, reshaped by warp logic, and still advancing along the Long Path.
