Colonel Flaktrap, Voltigun Commander of Fort Badron and his venerable Regiment of Rust, has not reported in for several weeks. The Badron Desert is a crucible of rebel movement and hidden strongholds, and Fort Badron itself sits atop vital supply routes that Clanker High Command cannot afford to lose. His silence is deeply unsettling. With insurgent activity rising across the burning expanse, restoring contact with this isolated bastion has become an immediate priority.
To that end, High Command has dispatched a hardened detachment of upgraded Voltigun Mk II units to locate Flaktrap and reinforce whatever remains of his garrison. Rover-mules—four-legged scout automata range far ahead of the main column. They scour dunes and ridgelines for traps, or signs of enemy ambush.
Behind them, the Voltigun core advances in perfect lockstep. Their march is in steady mechanical cadence, pistons tightening and pressure valves hissing in rhythm with the desert’s own howling winds. Sand lashes their armored plates, but they press forward without pause, a steel phalanx cutting through the storm.
Somewhere beyond the next dune line lies Fort Badron, or whatever is left of it. And if Colonel Flaktrap still stands, his reinforcements are coming.
