Mage

The experiments of the Academy of Rabenstadt produced alchemists and mages. They steal bits of arcane power and turn them into weapons; they are not true sorcerers; rather, they are thieves of knowledge that is forbidden. The Taintblood Hunters, who view them as a short-term solution in their fight for survival, tend to tolerate rather than fully embrace this branch of the Academy. Alchemists transform stolen patterns into poisons, powders, and volatile devices, while mages transform them into wards and commands. They fight for the barons of Rabenstadt using different tactics but the same goal, demonstrating that knowledge that has been stolen can be just as lethal as a sword or cannon.
