Description

Model Description:
This download contains a highly detailed model of an early-production Tiger I heavy tank, specifically the H1. This vehicle is distinguished by the larger cupola, turret mounted smoke dischargers, engine mufflers, and hull roof mounted headlights. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness).

Historical Description:
The Panzer VI 'Tiger' H1 was a German heavy tank used in World War 2. Introduced in 1942, this model represents an early production Tiger H1, contrasted by the later-war Tiger E. The Tiger is a well-known tank due to its intimidating profile, powerful 88mm cannon, and thick armor for its time. The Tiger 1's impact is often overstated, as it was quite rare with just over 1,300 being produced. This is contrasted with tens of thousands of Shermans and T-34s being produced in the same time frame. The early model H1 has quite a few distinguishing features over the later-war models. It possessed rubber tires, wider tracks, and a larger cupola to name a few notable differences. The vehicle possessed the 88mm KwK 36 L/56 cannon, which was capable of knocking out allied tanks well beyond the range where they could penetrate the Tiger. Nevertheless, the vehicle was not invincible as popular culture would have you believe, and today only a handful remain.

In Armored Advance:
In armored advance the Tiger H1 possesses strong armor, particularly for early war battles. The vehicle has the ability to angle its armor to be even more effective. Additionally, the 88mm cannon has decent penetration power that can combat most contemporary vehicles, even at long range. Adding to the cannon's penetration, it also has significant damage output due to its caliber, making 75mm cannons look weak by comparison. The vehicle does however suffer from being quite slow, with a maximum movement of 7" if spending both actions to move, due to the heavy keyword and already low base movement stat.
