Armed with ink-stained hands and iron wills, the Newsboys' Union fights for every inch of curb and corner in the Five Points. These streetwise kids and hardened pressmen run the city’s newsstands. Shouting headlines by day and throwing punches by night. When rival gangs or crooked officials try to muscle in, the Union answers with knuckles, lead pipes and the kind of teamwork born on the streets.

Their leader — Mr. Ledger, a former reporter turned fighter for the truth — keeps them organised like a newsroom at war. To the untrained eye, they’re just paper peddlers and copy boys, but the Newsboys' Union has eyes and ears everywhere. In a city ruled by lies, their greatest weapon is the truth — printed, shouted and fought for.
