The Foul Matron, one of the earliest failed leech-pox experiments cast into the sewers by Balthazar Morris, has a tragic and grotesque history. Initially, a relatively minor leech, it began to feed on various rodents, animals, remnants and rotting carcasses it could find as it slithered through the sewer canals. Growing with each consumption, until eventually it started feeding on sewer workers and humans that dared venture into the darkness. With each individual it consumed, it adopted some semblance and short-term memory of them, often recalling the exact moment they were ambushed and devoured alive.
Over time, the Matron expanded in size and morphed into an amalgamation of limbs and exposed organs, yet it continued to consume. It eventually reached a point where it could no longer move, its grotesque belly bursting open into a large gash as its entrails spilled out, exposing its womb from which horrors and crawlers would breed. The creature’s brain seems fully aware of the unending pain it endures, as the consciousnesses of its victims have completely overridden it.
However, the body possesses a will of its own—a relentless drive to consume and give birth to the leeches that feed on its bowels, grow in its womb, morph, and mature until they can claw their way out of the matron’s bloody crib. A torturous cycle of infinite agony.
