Description
Interrogator Knott appears where no one expects him and carries himself as though he has the right to stand wherever he pleases. Some take him for a figure from the lofty spires, others for the heir of a powerful house, a private patron, or an investigator in service to institutions too influential to name aloud. No one knows for certain, because Knott never answers directly. He gives out assignments that seem strange, excessive, and at times almost insane, yet he does so with such cold certainty that it becomes difficult not to believe he sees the one correct move long before anyone else. He bears himself like a noble warrior rather than a mere official, and though he appears young, there is something in his gaze and in his habits that suggests a man who has lived through far more than one lifetime’s share of ruin. At times, it seems impossible to separate him from the same mysterious outsider who appeared near the site where part of the 404th Brigade vanished. Too many coincidences align too neatly: anomalies, impossible combat orders, and sudden clues that fit unfolding events with unnerving precision. Whether this is the shape of a vast conspiracy or only a chain of deadly accidents disguised as design, Knott remains at its center, and those who fight beside him will one day have to decide where patronage ends, where loyalty breaks, and whether the leash was ever meant to be removed at all.
